The Michelson 20MM Foundation is excited to announce our 3rd Spark Grant awarded to The Common Application. The grant will be used to help the Common App leverage its assets to create a more uniform and streamlined approach for applying for scholarship opportunities. The Common App is seeking to remove onerous barriers in the fragmented scholarship ecosystem that has historically limited awareness and access to funding opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Common App will use this funding to identify how it can best support students navigate the scholarship application process and help providers quickly identify those students who are a good match for their scholarships. The Common App currently works with over 900 colleges and universities throughout the world and more than 1.5 million students, one-third of whom are first-generation college students, use the application each year.

The Michelson 20MM Foundation has long been a fierce advocate of making college more accessible and more affordable. With this grant we are pleased to continue that work by making it easier for students, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds to apply for and receive scholarships.

The Michelson 20MM Foundation and its initiatives are made possible by the generous support of Gary K. Michelson, M.D. and his wife, Alya Michelson.

We will be conducting Phase 2 of the Michelson Spark Grant program starting August 5th. To learn more please visit our webpage or sign up for notifications via the form below.
