Improving Access to Higher Education

Every degree is a new path forward.

We support organizations that get students into college, help them stay enrolled until they graduate, and help them re-enroll if they’ve dropped out. This helps students succeed as workers and entrepreneurs, leading to a better quality of life and helping the economy by supplying skilled workers to meet the projected increase in demand for tech workers.

Our Goals for Increasing Access to Higher Education
R

Lower barriers to entry by reducing costs.

College is prohibitively expensive for too many people, but we can supplement traditional college courses with online learning, industry experience, and other alternative forms of education.

In addition, we work to increase recognition among employers and policymakers of the validity of these alternative modes of education.

R

Increase tech enabled supports for students.

Even for someone who is committed to their college education regardless of the cost, navigating the system can prove challenging. Michelson 20MM investments and programs address a range of obstacles, from navigating the application process, to course and degree completion.

Michelson 20MM helps streamline access to student supports using technology and educational resources.

R

Mitigate geography as a barrier to success.

For those who are interested in technology jobs and have a good deal of talent to offer, but are unable to gain access to higher education resources due to geographical barriers, we are working with our partners to bridge that gap by creating new opportunities to connect vital, in-demand tech skills with the prospective students who are interested in acquiring them.
