Michelson 20MM Foundation is an affiliated organization of Michelson Philanthropies. For more than a decade, it has served 20 million minds–the approximate number of post-secondary students in the United States–by advancing open educational resources, smart justice, student basic needs, digital equity, and intellectual property education.
The world of educational equity gained a formidable ally when Dr. Gary K. Michelson learned of a group of professors who pooled their personal funds to help bright, struggling college students afford textbooks so they could stay in school. In 2010 he contributed his own funds towards textbook scholarships but was committed to finding enduring solutions to tackle the root of the problem. That philosophy has underscored all that we do to advance systems change solutions across our portfolio of work.
