Although the majority of the Michelson 20MM Foundation’s work around open education (OE) is focused within California, we recognize that the movement is, in fact, global. With that in mind, Michelson 20MM is excited to serve as a sponsor of this year’s Open Education Global Conference at the Université de Nantes in France. As with last year’s conference, the focus is on practices and solutions that will guide the implementation of the UNESCO OER Recommendations.
The three-day event will host international thought leaders, educators, and innovators working to push the boundaries of open. Keynotes include astronaut and artist, Dr. Sian Proctor; the former Minister of Knowledge for Ecuador, Andres Arauz; and the President of Nantes Universite, Carine Bernault. Spanning diverse disciplines and nationalities, presenters at this conference will dive into open pedagogy, technology supporting OER, international collaboration, and more. Additionally, the conference has four language tracks—English, Spanish, Arabic, and French—as well as a virtual AND Conference.
Open Education Global has been advancing the international open movement for over a decade, with local branches in Latin America (OE LATAM) and the United States (CCCOER). Born out of the open courseware movement, the Open Education Global Conference has continued to connect practitioners, thought leaders, and institutions across borders.
