We support initiatives in the realms of content, advocacy, and technology. At our inception, we held very closely the notion that core components of our collective knowledge, in everything from biology to economics to literature should be available in some form to everyone-- that this should be seen as a right to an education, not a privilege that students could be priced out of. This was the vision of our founder Dr. Gary Michelson (prolific inventor and inventors hall of fame inductee), who continues to stay involved in our work on a weekly basis. This level of engagement fundamentally speaks to our strategy as a whole across all of our initiatives: as he puts it, that effective philanthropy takes far more than simply opening your checkbook.
